Free Spirits

i want to be free spirited.

i want to write. i want to paint. i want to create. i want to make things. i want to love. i want to see the beauty of the world.

i do not want to worry about everything in my life. i do not want to be concerned with what people say about me. i do not want to bother my head and my heart about relationships. i do not want to worry about money. i do not want to be consumed by material things. i do not want to be stuck in a corporate world. i do not want to be bound by time. i do not want people hounding me about what i should or shouldn't do. i do not want to be restricted by the stigmas of society. i do not want to see pain and farrowed brows.

unfortunately, though, so many of us, me included, are constrained by society, by the standards of living, by the nature of survival instincts that are imposed by us by evolving civilizations. we cannot survive doing just what we want to do. we would live poorly and in turn, become resentful and in pain. we are hurt by what society has become.

as much as i love modern conveniences the ease that the now smaller world brings, the luxuries that we get to enjoy, i hate how society and mankind has evolved along with it. cause and effect, i suppose. i hate how everything has become so complicated. the mind games that each individual play, consciously or not. i hate politics when it becomes not just a game that is played among governments but when it occurs amongst people, amongst friends, colleagues, family and partners.

i hate that we have been moulded to think too much in simple straightforward matters. it's become such a chore and i cannot bring myself to understand why simpler times and simple straightforward relationships feel compelled to adhere to evolving technologies and society.

in my perfect world, the world is a beautiful place, as it was so intended to from the beginning of time. the skies so blue, the grass, green and the sand, soft as powder. people do not play complicated games and are happy doing what they like and be contented with what they have and are able to hold on to the happiness that they found. people do not need to live in palaces and mansions just to show how much they have gotten out of society. people do not need to wear designer brands on the outside just because a marketing campaign was successful in influencing them. people do not try to impose their thoughts on others and influence others against what they are supposed to be.

as much as the sophisticating society and the heightening technology has made lives better and easier, it has also destroyed what used to be a much simpler and more beautiful humanity.
