Restart

i dropped my gorgeous external hard drive and completely crashed it. the cable will no longer connect to it and the guy at challenger said that it was pointless to try to retrieve data from it. he passed me a card to professional data retrieval and informed me that unless the data was important, it was not worth it to bring it over anyway because it could cost anywhere between 100 to 1000 bucks!

point is, i bought another pretty hard drive, went home, somehow managed to connect the destroyed hard drive long enough using a clip and transferred every single piece of data into the new drive. which brings me to the next 2 points.

first, i'm going to file a complain against the guy at challenger for not even trying even though he was sitting on his ass at customer service, and i, the layman managed to get it connected and retrieve all my data without any IT knowledge and a clip for paper.

and second, if only it were so easy for everything else in life. spend a hundred bucks to buy a beautiful clean slate, copy all the important data and continue brand new without any over significant damage.
