I dug my hole
Shovel by shovel
One at a time
Not knowing
How deep I was going
Now that I look down
I start to note
The hole I was digging
Is now six feet deep
It is too late
to start filling it in
Back to how it should be
Now there is no choice
But to let myself in
To continue my job
To continue digging
Deeper and deeper
With me in it
Let me know
When it's time to rest
So I can lie down
At the bottom
By myself
Be swallowed by the earth
I have no means
To climb out of it
I can only stay
